4 ways to talk about the future

Ma arról beszéltünk, hogy lehet kifejezni az angolban a JÖVŐ időt, azaz FUTURE-t!

Attól függ, mit szeretnél kifejezni.

1. A legegyszerűbb a folyamatos jelent használni, jövő idős időhatározóval.

I'm going to the hairdressers. I'm having dinner with my teammates. (ez ugye MOST zajlik).

Ha megtoldod egy időhatározóval, lehet olyan jövőben történő cselekvés, amit már leszerveztél. Azaz van időpont a fodrásznál, van étteremfoglalás.

I'm going to the hairdressers. TOMORROW.  I'm having dinner with my teammates ON TUESDAY EVENING.

2. Ha menetrendekről, músorok kezési időpontjáróli van szó, használd az egyszerű jelent.

The bus leaves at 7 am. The film starts at 8pm.

Figyelj!!!!!!!

I'm going to the cinema with my friends tonight. The film starts at 8pm.

A könyvünkben ezzel a 25-ös lecke foglalkozik, mely a 60. oldalon kezdődik:

itt tudsz gyakorolni is és még egyszer átolvashatod a példákat.

3. GOING TO (gonna) - ezt akkor vedd elő, ha  A: tervekről, szándékokról beszélsz:

I'm going to sell my car. I'm going to buy a new car. I'm not going to have breakfast today because I'm not hungry.

B: vagy akkor, ha szerinted tutira be fog valami következni, pl sötét felhők láttán:

It's going to rain.

barátod kezében az ötödik pohár cocktail láttán:

You're gonna get drunk.

(a könyvben a 26-os lecke, 62. oldalon)

4. a WILL segédige az egyszerű jövőt segíti kijejezni.

A: spontán döntés.

- Kriszta, your hair is too long.

-OK, I'll have a haircut.

-----------------------------------

- Piroska, I'm cold.

- I'll, turn on the heating.

B: felajánlás:

I'll help you. I'll take you to the airport.

C: ígéret:

I will always love you. I will always do my homework.

D: szeret az I think kifejezéssel társulni:

I'm tired. I think I'll go to bed.

I don't think I'll buy a new car.

(28-as lecke, 66. oldalon)

Our Class in the Summer of 2023

I learn English at Bonus Language School. The course is for beginners, it starts in July and finishes in September.

Our teacher is very friendly and patient. She is from Pécs. She has a small family and two cats.

My classmates are very nice. There are 7 of us in the group - six women and one man:

.......... has a pool and lives near the spa. She goes to Nagy Lajos High School and she is the youngest in the class. She is only 15 years old. She would rather live in Pécs than in Mohács and would rather watch HBO Max than Netflix.

.......... cuts hair in a salon. She is a hairdresser. She has long, straight hair. She has a tattoo on her wrist. She speaks German. She would rather lose her wallet than her phone because her clients' phone numbers are in her phone.

.......... likes walking on the river bank. She likes city holidays. She travels with her mother. She works as an accountant. She thinks her job is boring. She would rather send a text than make a phone call.

......... hates his job because he has to work with dumb people. He gets up very early and feeds birds in his freetime. He would rather have a sauna than a pool.

........ likes camping holidays, Spain and art. She is from Slovakia but her nationality is Hungarian. She isn't married but she has a boyfriend. She would rather have a big family than a small family.

......... sells wood and likes her job. She has long hair and wears glasses. She sits in front of the window. She would rather play Activity than Monopoly.

.......... works as a logistics manager. She works in the garden in the evenings and likes to drink beer. She would rather have a nice house than a nice car.

.......... works as a beautician, OR nurse and energy healer. She sits in the corner and likes to go on holidays.

ECL C1 topics - smuggling people and goods

Smuggling is the illegal transporting of goods. These goods can be legal, such as alcohol and tobacco, or illegal, such as drugs and arms. Illegal trafficking of immigrants is also a form of smuggling.

Human trafficking: is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit. Men, women and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crime, which occurs in every region of the world.

Many victims of human trafficking are used to ferry drugs across international borders. Popularly known as 'drug mules', the victims are made to swallow balloons containing illicit drugs and are then transported across borders.  Once they have reached their destination, these balloons are retrieved from the victim's body.

The ethical dilemma of designer babies | Paul Knoepfler

Genetic engineering, also known as genetic modification or genetic manipulation, refers to the process of altering the genetic material of an organism by introducing or removing specific genes. It involves manipulating the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) of an organism to achieve desired traits or characteristics.

Purpose: there are various reasons: improve crops, develop medical treatments, conduct scientific research

Technique: recombinant DNA technology, gene editing tools

Applications: in agriculture: GM crops with traits like herbicide tolerance, pest resistance or improved nutritional content.

Benefits: increased crop yields, improved medical treatment, new therapies for genetic disorders

Concerns and ethical considerations: potential unintended consequenses on biodiversity, ecosystems and human  health.

Cloning is a technique scientists use to make exact genetic copies of living things. Genes, cells, tissues, and even whole animals can all be cloned. Some clones already exist in nature. Single-celled organisms like bacteria make exact copies of themselves each time they reproduce.

Dolly (5 July 1996 – 14 February 2003) was a female Finn-Dorset sheep and the first mammal that was cloned from an adult somatic cell. She was cloned by associates of the Roslin Institute in Scotland, using the process of nuclear transfer from a cell taken from a mammary gland.

The pros of GMO crops are that they may contain more nutrients, are grown with fewer pesticides, and are usually cheaper than their non-GMO counterparts. The cons of GMO foods are that they may cause allergic reactions because of their altered DNA and they may increase antibiotic resistance.
