If you ask me, mobile phones, especially smartphones are getting more and more popular because we can use them for many different things. Modern smartphones have lots of interesting features.
I usually use my phone for texting, watching videos on YouTube or Tiktok, online shopping, taking photos, sending messages on messenger or Whatsapp, checking the weather, banking and reading the news.
I think smartphones have more advantages than disadvantages. We need only one device instead of a camera, TV, and a computer. We can save a lot of money and time. I'm keen on online shopping. Instead of going to the shop and trying on clothes we can order fashionable outfits that cost less money than in the mall. We can keep in touch with friends and family all the time. Instead of using boring snail mail we can send a video and share our experiences with the world.
However, if you spend too much time online, you can get addicted to your mobile phone. Although you can keep in touch with your friends and family online, nothing compares to face-to-face communication. Another disadvantage is that social media can affect our mental health. We can feel isolated or jelaous if we spend too much time on facebook or instagram. People share perfect moments of their perfect lives and if you do not have the perfect body, perfect house or family you will feel less happy. If you ask me, everybody should do a digital detox from time to time and go without a phone for a couple of days. I believe it would help us enjoy real-life activities and adventures.
